Dachshund Migration
Cave Dog I

Watercolor, Charcoal, Coffee on hand made Indian watercolor paper
9.5" x 12.5"
2005

In this illustration I have imagined a great Dachshund migration, with doxies of all coats and colors headed toward some unknown destination. Are they following a migration of prehistoric bunnies or squirrels? Perhaps they are headed somewhere for a warm winter. Maybe they just felt like taking a road trip. In any case, we see smooth, wire, longhaired dachsies, with colors ranging from red to black and tan, chocolate and tan, apricot, and dapple. In typical doxie style you can see one has stopped to sniff something, and one has even decided to head the other direction.
