Tyrannosaurua Dox
Tyrannosaurus Dox

Watercolor, Charcoal, Coffee
2.5" x 3.5"
2006

This longhaired Cave Dachshund was inspired (with tongue firmly in cheek) by the cave art of pre-history. Now we all know that dinosaurs were extinct by the time humans came along, but I couldn't resist this cave painting of the terrifying Tyrannosaurus Dox.
Just look at the similarities between the legendary King of the Dinosaurs and our modern-day Dachshunds:
Unusually short arms? Check. Bravery? Check. Voracious Appetite? Check. Frightening teeth-baring posturing? Check. Why, for all we know evolution has just come down the line and the doxie is descended from T-Rex, but now adapted to rule our homes in spoiled comfort. Why evolve if it isn't for the better?
